When comparing the everyday lives of Americans and Europeans, it is immediately evident that Europeans have access to certain luxuries that many Americans simply cannot. From the availability of fresh and high-quality produce year-round to public transportation systems with expansive reach, these luxuries are seen as essential parts of life in Europe but largely inaccessible or unaffordable for many people living in America.
The fact that such basic resources are considered luxuries instead of necessities has had a huge impact on American society today. Many families struggle to put nutritious food on their tables due to limited access to groceries and lack of financial resources, while others lack the means for reliable transportation which can be crucial when attempting to pursue better career opportunities or attend educational events. In addition, this state of inequality has only grown more pronounced over time as advances in technology, industry, infrastructure and other aspects all remain concentrated within certain regions while leaving much of the country behind.
This contrast between everyday life in America versus Europe serves as an urgent reminder for us all: we must strive towards greater equality so everyone can enjoy access to those same “luxury” amenities enjoyed by our European counterparts. Through open dialogue about issues surrounding poverty and inequity along with targeted solutions that enable disadvantaged communities to reach their fullest potentials, we will be able make sure no one is left out from experiencing these small yet meaningful comforts everyone should have a chance at enjoying regardless where they come from.
