If adults were to be given the same privileges as toddlers when it comes to discipline, imagine how much better the world would be! For example, if your boss asked you to stay late and finish up a project but all you wanted was an early night sleep, simply reply with “No thanks – I’m taking my nap now.” Your boss will be so amazed by your newfound power that he won’t even remember why he asked in the first place.
The possibilities are endless! How about this: You arrive home from work after a long day only to find out someone has parked their car on your front lawn? Not a problem – just tell them firmly that they must leave right away or face naptime consequences! Suddenly, their car will vanish quicker than magic.
Perhaps best of all is when dealing with difficult people. All you have to do is whisper ever so quietly that it’s time for a nap and watch as those pesky problems melt away like snow in springtime. Napping really does make everything better!
Positive Consequence:
If adults had to take a nap when they act out like toddlers do, it could lead to calmer conversations and more amicable resolutions. We would see less fighting in the streets or on social media since people would be required to cool off before continuing their disagreements. It might also help to promote healthier relationships between family members as well as friends.
Negative Consequence:
On the flip side, if adults were required to take naps whenever they acted out like toddlers do, it could create an issue with productivity in some places of work. Employers may not appreciate having employees sleeping at random times throughout the day and this rule could result in disgruntled customers or clients if services are interrupted for too long by a power nap! In addition, sleepy workers may lack focus which can be hazardous when dealing with certain tasks that require high alertness such as operating machinery.
When an adult acts out, they are usually met with consequences like a scolding or getting fired from their job. But what if adults were also required to take a nap when they acted out? Imagine your boss having to sneak off for a snooze after shouting at you! Or, politicians going on long afternoon naps during heated debates in the legislature instead of yelling insults across the chamber.
Adults would be less prone to impulsive and ill-advised decisions since those decision-making moments could be cooled by taking some well-deserved shut eye. Perhaps our world wouldn’t seem so bad if people were encouraged to hit the hay rather than become hotheaded over matters that don’t really matter all that much in the grand scheme of things. Plus, it’s not like napping is detrimental – it can actually help us de-stress, boost creativity and productivity and make us feel more refreshed overall! So maybe we should start introducing mandatory nap times into our everyday lives – let’s see where that takes us!
