Housebuilders in the U.K. had an interesting dilemma when faced with rising prices – do they succumb to their greed, or remain within ethical bounds? While some tried valiantly to maintain a strict moral code, others simply couldn’t help themselves and cashed in on the opportunity for larger profits per dwelling. Whether it was increasing construction costs, raising overhead expenses, or passing on extra fees to unsuspecting customers, no stone was left unturned in pursuit of that magical £70,000 per dwelling figure!
One housebuilder even went so far as to require buyers to purchase a deluxe home insulation package before being allowed into contract – despite it being completely unnecessary in most cases! Of course this soon earned them the nickname “Insulation Scammers” among fellow housebuilders and residents alike. Another builder resorted to offering two-for-one deals for bathrooms fixtures; making it practically impossible not to save money when buying a new home.
Regardless of how exactly they chose to make their money off of rising prices, one thing is certain: UK housebuilders are now getting very rich indeed!
